It is with great respect that we have farewelled our President Mrs Margaret Thorne.
Margaret has been one of the longest-serving President in the history of the Richmond Literary Institute and School of Arts and we wish her the very best possible retirement. She is now the RSoA’s Patron and a Life Member in recognition of her formidable achievements in the community and within the RSoA itself. This has been a life’s work of some 43 years as a member (an usher for the Richmond Players in 1952!) through to 39 years serving as President.
She will be working on a historical book about the School, to which we very much look forward!
Margaret is succeeded by Committee member Sean Duff who sits as Interim President until the Board’s AGM in August.
Sadly, we have also farewelled Vice- President Lorraine Paull, Secretary Graham Smith, and long-term committee stalwart Ross Wanstall. We wish them all the very best for the future and commend them all on their wonderful work within the Richmond School of Arts over the decades.
The current committee is proud to take up the work and legacy left by the previous Officers and will be served by Sean Duff (President), Rob Stalley (Vice President), current Treasurer Katrina Roberts and Meera Webster (Secretary) with new members welcomed aboard – Katrina Pritchard-Stutz, Cathy Stevenson, Kathryn Gene. Others will be confirmed in due course.
